This summer HCHA is launching a year of digital activity and training as part of its commitment to digital inclusion for older residents living in our sheltered schemes. Tracey Baldwin, HCHA’s Finance Manager said, ‘HCHA strongly believes that digital inclusion is important for all of our tenants and by making this a priority in 2015 we hope to reduce the digital divide. We are committed to enabling and supporting our tenants in helping them to prepare for Universal Credit as well as boosting their own personal and social well-being.’
Our digital year will include the following:
• Creating a tenant user area on our HCHA website (www.hcha.org.uk) that enables you to login to your own HCHA account and access your rent statements, make a payment online or report a repair. Tenants will be receiving their login passwords by personal letter in July.
• Recruiting tenants to volunteer as ‘Digital Champions’ to help and encourage others to get involved.
• Organising taster sessions on computers and tablets to help tenants take the first steps in getting online. This training will be organised by our newly appointed Activities Coordinator and delivered by volunteers from the community and through our partners: Age UK and the ‘Digital E
agles’ from Barclays Bank, Harrow branch.
