In March, Gillian House resident, Edward Erdwin, who is known to everyone as Ted, was presented with the HCHA Community Star Award.
Chipo Chapesshamano, Intensive Housing Coordinator said, ‘Ted is just fantastically community spirited! He looks out for everyone at Gillian House, and he’s more like our sheltered scheme security man – he goes round the building every night ensuring that all doors and windows are locked. He makes doubly sure that people are safe.’
Resident Eleanor Plant added, ‘Whenever any of us has a problem we ask Ted, he’s ready to help everybody.’
Ted was taken aback by the surprise presentation, and he said ‘It’s really nice, I’ve never won anything in my life!’
