Nathaniel Willis (pictured right) is 21 years of age and lives in HCHA accommodation provided under the Young Persons’ Scheme.
He says, ‘I need to get on my feet. I’m a fully able-bodied man and should be able to provide for myself. I want to study to be a teacher and after having advice from HCHA Young Persons’ Project Coordinator, I have registered for a ten week intensive PTLLS course to enable me to gain an IT teaching qualification.’
Nathaniel has also been attending job interviews and is always smartly dressed. He says, ‘I make a point not to leave home without a tie, until I’m in the position I want to be in.’
All of our young residents have access to our new Young Persons’ Project Coordinator, Sheetal Patwa, who can provide help and advice to get them into work experience, training, or onto a course that will help them to get ahead. To arrange an appointment please call Sheetal at our HCHA Head Office on 020 8424 2776.
